Announcing - New Recording!

17 May 2023

Charles Sholom Miller, Jerome Kern's legendary Hollywood arranger, wrote a total of twelve string quartets in the 1930's and 40's.

Only six songs were known to exist. They were published by TG Harms in 1941 and originally recorded on Decca Records by the Gordon Quartet.

Philharmonic Chamber Soloists re-recorded them in 2003 on their CD 'Strings in Swingtime' on Bridge Records. Recently six all-new Charles Miller song arrangements were discovered by Michael Feinstein in his American Songbook archives. They are, like the first six, virtuosic, miniature masterpieces of Jerome Kern's iconic songs from stage and screen that have never been published, heard or recorded.

Philharmonic Chamber Soloists is proud to release 'Arranging for Hollywood', which now completes this magnificent song collection.
