Fiona Simon
Violinist Fiona Simon was born in London to a family of musicians and has been a member of the New York Philharmonic since 1985. She was a student of Szymon Goldberg and won major prizes in the Carl Flesh and Jacque Thibaud competitions. For three consecutive years, she was London’s Young Artist of the Year. She has performed with the Academy of St-Martins-In-The-Fields, the Royal Opera at Covent Garden and the English Chamber Orchestra, and has been featured in many recitals and concerts broadcast over the BBC and has made many solo appearances throughout Europe. Ms. Simon is a member of the Vanderspan String Trio and the Simon String Quartet. In addition to a lifelong love affair with the violin, her passions include travel, tennis and being a recent convert to the joys of ballroom dancing.
