Philharmonic Chamber Soloists

Founded in 2003 by violist Katherine Greene, Philharmonic Chamber Soloists (PCS) have presented memorable concerts throughout the United States, Europe and Asia featuring eclectic programming interwoven with lively commentary, earning rave reviews. Focusing on music that is both familiar and rarely performed, but always shining gems from classical, jazz and Broadway repertoire; the ensemble, comprised of virtuoso musicians from the New York Philharmonic, flexes from 3 to 10 depending upon the project/performance.

When not touring, PCS makes its home base in Manhattan. In 2003 the ensemble were guests of Michael Feinstein at this Carnegie Hall series, ‘Standard Time’, performing Jerome Kern songs from their Bridge Records release Strings in Swingtime.

PCS is proud to present their latest and historic CD Arranging for Hollywood Jerome Kern and Charles Miller. Unpublished and never recorded until now, six new Jerome Kern songs arranged by Charles Miller for string quartet, were recently discovered in Michael Feinstein’s ‘American Songbook’ Archives.

Together with their previous CD, Strings in Swingtime on Bridge Records, PCS is proud to showcase all twelve of Charles Miller’s magnificent string quartet arrangements of Jerome Kern’s iconic songs written for stage and screen.
